ELEGANT BLACK-TIE WEDDING at CHATEAU ROBERNIER, PROVENCE

CAROLYN & GRAEME
For this stylish & modern international couple – an Australian girl and a Scotsman living in London – a destination wedding in France was the perfect way to gather all their friends and family from across the globe for a weekend of celebrations in the sunshine and beautiful surroundings of this fairytale chateau in Provence. Having already photographed at this stunning location, I was so grateful that they asked me to be the photographer for their elegant Chateau Robernier wedding.
THREE DAY DESTINATION WEDDING in PROVENCE
The three-day wedding event began with welcome drinks at a restaurant in the local village of Cotignac, where guests enjoyed local rosé and canapés while the sun set over the hills. This was followed by the main event – an elegant black-tie wedding at Chateau Robernier. The intimate ceremony took place under the shade of the ancient plane trees, before a cocktail reception with champagne, canapés and live jazz. As the sun set, guests enjoyed a candlelit dinner in the courtyard, ending with cake, champagne tower and dancing into the night. The day after the wedding the couple threw a chic pool party and brunch at the chateau, around the beautiful ancient stone pool, washed down with plenty of local rosé!
UNDERSTATED luxury…
The wedding aesthetic was ‘understated luxury’; with a black tie dress-code, elegant details, and white, creams, gold, and eucalyptus as central colours. The blend of classic and modern elegance came through the décor and throughout the day.
The bride’s love of white hydrangeas, and light and airy aethetics which were key to the overall theme – and as an Australian it was also essential to have eucalyptus! As Graeme is Scottish they brought in some Scottish thistle into the florals and the Groom’s party wore pocket squares made from Graeme’s family tartan. Carolyn also surprised Graeme with a Scottish bagpiper for the arrival of the guests, which was a really special moment.
TIMELESS yet modern SOPHISTICATION
Carolyn looked stunning in her classic strapless gown and long veil. She wanted a dress that was elegant and sophisticated yet modern and timeless. The ‘Promise’ dress by UK designer Caroline Castigliano was all of these and more. There was so much to love: the sleek lines, the strapless low back bodice, the organza skirt, the pockets! Carolyn’s bridal look was sophisticated and elegant, with a chic low pony-tail giving modern vibes and classic Hollywood makeup adding a touch of understated glamour. Graeme wore a sharp black tux with a tartan pocket square and thistle boutonniere as a nod to his Scottish heritage.

CHATEAU ROBERNIER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Carolyn & Graeme’s elegant destination wedding was such a delight to photograph and be a part of. Everything – from the decor to the fashion to the location – was stylish, sophisticated and beautiful. But above all, witnessing this wonderful couple’s love story and connection, and documenting these precious moments and their friends and family in this once in a lifetime occasion – that was the real joy. Here are some highlights to give you a taste of this stunning Chateau Robernier destination wedding.
We both loved Katy’s talented eye and ethereal and airy aesthetic. She befriended our friends and family, and was able to capture all the details and essence of our Wedding absolutely perfectly. It was important to us to have a photographer who could make us feel comfortable and was able to capture all aspects of the venue, the people and the emotion.
We were absolutely delighted with our photos!
